Carol Shelton has earned many titles—Winemaker of the Year (4 separate years), Pioneer Woman Winemaker—but the one that is most fitting is “Queen of Zin.”

When Carol and her husband and business partner Mitch Mackenzie launched Carol Shelton Wines, they knew that focus would be Zinfandel. That focus has paid off. Carol’s Zins along, with the other varietals she produces, continue to receive high acclaim and she maintains her role as the “Queen of Zin.”

Currently, Carol Shelton Wines produces five Zinfandels—Rocky Reserve, Maple Zin, Karma Zin, Wild Thing and Monga Zin—plus Black Magic, a Late Harvest Zin and Tawny Monga, a dessert Zin formerly known as a Port. Carol also produces a smattering of other wines—Syrah, Petite Sirah, Rosé, Late Harvest Trousseau gris and soon she’ll be adding a Cabernet Sauvignon to the lineup.
